About Bozeco

Bozeco is a collection of practical guides for people who have moved to Portugal — or are thinking about it. We cover visas, banking, healthcare, housing, taxes, and the everyday bureaucracy that nobody warns you about until you're standing in a line at FinanƧas with the wrong documents.

Why We Started This

Most Portugal expat content online falls into two camps: glossy lifestyle blogs that make it sound like moving to Portugal is as easy as booking a flight, and dense legal guides written for immigration lawyers, not regular people. We wanted something in between — honest, detailed, practical information written by people who have actually navigated these processes.

Every guide on this site is based on real experience. We have stood in the lines, made the mistakes, submitted the wrong forms, and gone back with the right ones. We write the guides we wish we had when we started.

What We Cover

What We Don't Do

We are not lawyers, tax advisors, or immigration consultants. Our guides provide practical information based on experience and publicly available sources, but they are not legal advice. Laws change, policies shift, and individual situations vary. Always verify current requirements with the relevant Portuguese authorities or a qualified professional.

Staying Current

We update our guides regularly, but Portuguese bureaucracy moves faster than our editing schedule sometimes. If you spot something outdated or incorrect, we would appreciate hearing about it. Accuracy matters more than pride.

The Name

"Bozeco" — because life in Portugal is beautiful, but the paperwork can drive you a little crazy. We're here to help with the crazy part.
